This series of The Guardian explores its own slavery legacy. It’s an excellent resource for getting to grips with the legacy of slavery and how much Great Britain benefited from its colonial past. Individual articles shed light on different aspects, such as the industrial revolution, the growth of the textile industry in England’s North, and the involvement of the Crown. While the UK may be the first to point out that it abolished slavery prior to the US, it conveniently forgets that it had been doing it a fair bit longer, more systematically, and benefitted much more. There are lots of articles and podcasts on a variety of topics to choose from – so „fill yer boots!“.

Here’s a link to some basic reading on „How Britain buried its history of slavery“ by Gary Younge.
